CLI reference
The turboprivate CLI is a command-line program that opens an encrypted Room and exposes a local compatibility endpoint for an existing tool. It is a client of the Model API.
Install and authenticate
npm i -g https://api.turboprivate.ai/cli.tgz turboprivate login
login validates the key before storing it in ~/.turboprivate/credentials.json with mode 0600. For automation, set TURBOPRIVATE_API_KEY instead of writing a credential interactively.
Connect an existing tool
turboprivate models turboprivate connect --model <live-model-id> --print
Keep this process running. Copy the printed base URL and temporary token into your tool's custom-provider settings. Use the OpenAI URL for OpenAI-compatible clients and the Anthropic URL for Anthropic-compatible clients. The temporary local token is different from your account API key.
Send a request from the tool, then stop the CLI with Ctrl+C when finished and check its cleanup result. The CLI runs the connection locally; model execution remains remote. For automated integration, use the SDK. For evidence export, see Privacy proofs.
